Disney Springs Opening 2015-2016

What’s new in Disney Springs for 2015 and 2016
Every year, rides, attractions and resort areas around the many Disney attractions in Florida are closed for refurbishment, or to make way for new attractions. Already well underway is the transformation of Downtown Disney, part of Walt Disney World, which is being transformed into Disney Springs, with over 150 locations, new shops, eateries and other attractions. The transformation will run into 2016, but some new features will be open this year.

Among the new arrivals is a new steakhouse and loungeSTK Orlando, replacing the old Comedy Warehouse. A two-storey, monstrous 14,000 sq ft eatery, it will offer the only rooftop dining experience in the area and naturally, excellent food, with the finest steaks and accompaniments. Offering high-energy dining and a lively atmosphere, it looks like a great place for families and young couples.

If you want your food with a touch of surf to it, then how about the Boathouse? A new diner offering seafood, including Chilean sea bass and cedar plank salmon, and a raw bar, along with the usual steaks and chops, all done with an aquatic twist. Couples can also take a 20 minute romantic guided tour of the waterfront aboard an Italian water taxi, with servings of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries for the trip. Families can also nip in and out of the water using amphibious cars. Back inside the Boathouse, three bars will feature live music, with the Dock Bar built out over the water. There are private rooms for parties, the staff will wear nautical themed outfits, and it will be open until 2am.

Another big hitting culinary experience will be Morimoto Asia, featuring Iron Chef (the Japanese and US cooking show with lots of shouting) Morimoto who is creating his own experience at Disney Springs. It will feature foods from all corners of Asia (from favourites like Peking duck to dim sum) and new ideas, with East-meets-West fusion to tempt customers. Diners can watch their meals being prepared in the open kitchen area, while the new restaurant will offer a grand dining area with a 36 ft tall, dual-layer space with open terraces, a grand hall, private rooms for hire, a long bar, a cocktail lounge and seating for dining by the waterside.

These are just three of the major attractions scheduled to open at some point in 2015, but there are dozens of smaller eateries, plenty of stalls and stores, plus other attractions to make it a great destination for all visitors!
